BRCF $7,000 Grant to Changing Ways

The Battle River Community Foundation recently awarded a $1,200 grant to Camrose Neighbor Aid to support the Food Bank.  Battle River Community Foundation Director Carol Rollheiser presents the cheque to JoAnne Tweed, Neighbor Aid Executive Director.

The grant is from income from the Bob and Lesley Bell Fund, the Bert and Sharon Bromley Family Fund and the Shane and Shauna Ashton Fund.  All three Funds were started by area residents who wished to provide ongoing support for children’s nutrition and community food security.  Local Food Banks in Camrose and in Killam are facing unprecedented demand for services from residents who are facing the combined effects of the pandemic and inflation.

The Battle River Community Foundation exists to support organizations such as Neighbor Aid in East Central Alberta, which benefit the local communities and have a positive impact on the future.

Grants from the Battle River Community Foundation are primarily made possible through the generosity of individual donors and organizations that have created endowment funds.  The principal of these endowment funds are kept intact and the income is made available annually to support local projects and organizations.

Since it was founded in 1995, the Battle River Community Foundation has granted over $7,900,000 to support charitable activities in the Battle River Region.
